IN BRIEFMark DeGarmo & Dancers/Dynamic Forms Inc. (MDDF) is a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization committed to education and the arts, intercultural inquiry, and creativity. MDDF works in yearlong, multiyear partnership programs with NYC schools, including public students and communities underserved in the arts, dance and aesthetic education. MDDF develops research about arts-based learning.
QUICK FACTS
- In 2008-09, we will work with 2,025 students.
- In the last 4 years, MDDF taught 3,031 workshops in 177 classrooms in 7 schools.
- Maintained relationships with partnership schools for 7 consecutive years.
- Staff members have 150 cumulative years of experience in the arts and arts education.
- 150 hours of adult learning opportunities through annual teaching artist training institutes.
- DeGarmo served as consultant to the NYC Department of Education's Task Force to develop
the Arts Blueprint, serving 1.1 million students in 1,500 public schools.
